I'm waiting for my 'Like Jennie' dance tutorial on YouTube and am being shown an ad for Grammarly. The way they are positioning themselves now is that you can still write your own words in bullet format and Grammarly will then clean that up to a polished version that you can continue to edit. Which got me thinking about the concept of people being able to jot down their thoughts, and clean up their words and share said thought quicker than ever thanks to AI.
However, it's been said in many different ways that "writing is thinking" because it's using a part of your brain that is processing multiple thoughts to make one coherent thought that others can understand. Within that processing, you can decide whether or not what you are thinking is actually worth sharing, but with AI that thinking is removed, your messy thoughts are polished to the point that you think it sounds good and you could be sharing a polished turd. You haven't had to evaluate whether your thought is good or not.
Does this new shift move us away from a society of thinkers to a society of reactionaries? All just putting out content for others to react to before we ourselves have even reacted to it.
Idk man, I think we still need the internal feedback loop.
